At Gizzmo we only use MAC branded solenoids. In the early days, we made a jig with a wastegate attached to conduct real world comparisons. The MAC came out on top and that's why still use it. We have also done testing on several MAC copies, and let's just say it didn't go well. We only ever buy directly from MAC, so rest assured, you're getting the genuine article.
